Purging Old Microsoft Tenant from MacOS

Possible Error Codes:


AADSTS50020


Resolution:


Quit all Microsoft Apps.

Run the Microsoft License Removal Tool.


Delete the following files from /Library/LaunchDaemons:

  • com.microsoft.office.licensingV2.helper.plist)
  • com.microsoft.autoupdate.helper.plist
  • com.microsoft.onedriveupdaterdaemon.plist

Delete the following files from /Library/LaunchAgents:

  • com.microsoft.update.agent.plist

Delete the following files from /Library/PrivilegedHelperTools:

  • com.microsoft.office.licensingV2.helper
  • com.microsoft.autoupdate.helper

Delete the following files from /Library/Preferences:

  • com.microsoft.office.licensingV2.plist

Delete Microsoft related files (com.microsoft.*) from the following directory:

  • ~/Library/Application Support
  • ~/Library/Caches
  • ~/Library/Containers
  • ~/Library/Preferences

Delete all folders from the following directory starting with UBF:

  • ~/Library/Group Containers/UBF*

Delete all entries in Apple Keychain related to Microsoft.


Restart Mac.

Open any Office Apps and proceed with login.
